Get To Know More About 'Lizzie Mcquire' Star Hilary Duff In This 6-Item Trivia

Lizzie McGuire is the Disney Channel show that made all your other fave Disney Channel shows possible, and its star, Hilary Duff, paved the way for the Disney Channel stars we know and love, like Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and Zendaya. You may have seen every single episode, but did you know that Hilary almost didn't land the role of Lizzie?! Here are some shocking things you never knew about Lizzie McGuire:

1. Someone else almost got the role of Lizzie McGuire. Before Hilary Duff landed the lead, actress Sara Paxton was briefly considered for the role. Although she didn't end up playing Lizzie, she did make an appearance in the episode "Election".

2. Originally the show was titled "What's Lizzie Thinking?" Which can be seen in some of the first episode's blooper reel.

3. Lizzie's best friend Miranda Sanchez almost got her own spin-off. Lizzie fans will remember that her BFF Miranda was noticeably missing from the last few episodes. On the show, Lizzie said she was on vacation with her family, but in real life, actress Lalaine was working on a spinoff titles What's Stevie Thinking. The show was about Miranda, her sister Stevie, and her family as they worked in a zoo in Australia. While the show never made it to TV, Selena Gomez almost made her Disney Channel debut way before Wizards Of Waverly Place, when she was cast in the lead role of Stevie!

4. Originally Ethan Craft was supposed to be the school bully. But producers quickly realized Clayton Snyder was a lot better as the airhead heartthrob.

5. Lizzie's fremeny Kate got a little bit of a name change. Her last name changes from Saunders to Sanders in the later episodes.

6. Even though Hilary played both Lizzie and pop star Isabella in The Lizzie McGuire movie, she did not sing both characters' parts. Her big sister Haylie filled in and lent her vocals to Isabella, which makes total sense. Just because Lizzie and Izzie look alike, doesn't mean they sound the same, ya'know?
