8 Fascinating Facts About Disney Channel's "Lizzie Mcguire"

Here are 8 crazy, interesting facts you never know about Disney Channel's Lizzie McGuire.

There Was Almost A Lizzie McGuire Spinoff

Lizzie McGuire was such a big hit that Disney wanted to expand it. They were going to make more movies and more spin-off television shows - you know, do the typical Disney thing. There was even supposed to be a prime time television series on ABC about Lizzie, Miranda and Gordo attending high school. It never happened because of contractual disagreements on Hilary Duff's end. That actually makes me really bummed out. I would have loved to watch that!

Ethan Craft Was Almost A Really Different Character

You know how Ethan Craft is the heartthrob of the show, the popular guy every girl wants to be with (especially Lizzie)? Even though he's a total doof? Well, he was originally supposed to be the bully of the school. We all know he's much better suited as the lovable goof.

In The US, Only The First Season is Available On DVD

In the United States, you'll only find the first season of Lizzie McGuire on DVD. Although it was called "Volume 1," presumably suggesting that there would be more DVDs, there are no known plays for the release of any more.

It Was Almost Called Something Different

Although the simple "Lizzie McGuire" seems like the perfect show name, it was supposed to be called "What's Lizzie Thinking?"

Gordo's Full Name Is...

...David Gordan! Cute... but definitely not as cute as Gordo. Right? Right.

Another Actress Almost Played Lizzie

Hilary Duff is the perfect actress to play Lizzie. But she wasn't the only one being considered. Sara Paxton was also considered for the role. She didn't get it obviously, but she did make a guest cameo in one of the episodes.

The Actor Who Plays Gordo Is Older Than His Character

Adam Lamberg, the guy who plays Gordo, is actually more than three years older than Hilary Duff in real life, despite the fact that their characters are supposed to be the same age. This isn't very surprising, because Hollywood does stuff like this all the time, but still... never would have guessed!

Hilary Duff Didn't Sing For Isabella's Parts In The Movie

In The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Hilary Duff plays both Lizzie and Isabella. Isabella is a famous pop star who obviously sings. Even though Hilary really does sing in real life, the character's singing voice is actually from Haylie Duff, Hilary's sister. SO weird.
